Color Pops | Hearts All-Year-Round

Happy Valentine’s Day, Lovies!! I thought today would be the perfect day to share the month’s Color Pops post! I really do love the sentiment behind Valentine’s Day and I love all the cute decorations that come with it. By why do pinks and reds and lovely hearts have to disappear in March? Why not keep it going from February to February?

Today, I’m sharing a fun round up of heart-y home goods to keep the love going all-year-round!!

Color Pops | Hearts All-Year-Round1. Red Heart Linen Pillow Cover | Sukan on Etsy 2. Lovely Love Print in Pink | Tuesday Morning on Etsy 3. Ceramic Ring Plate with Red Hearts | RossLab on Etsy 4. Heart | 5. Bestie Bobbi Set | 6. Striped Heart iPhone Case | 7. Black Heart Wall Decals | Tayo Studio on Etsy

I know, I know I’ve got a whole lot of going on here, but you guys, I just straight love that shop. I think the branding and product design is genius. I actually have the red and white iPhone case and I love it. I’ll admit that I kindof made these pillows to match!

And how cute would those black heart wall decals be in a nursery or office? The answer is “So. So cute!”

So, don’t let the holiday police get you down! Hearts are for the whole year! On your tech, in your hair, and around your home!

Which are your favorites?

Happy February!! I’m kicking off this month-o-love with the next project in our Noob Sewing Series! At least once a month, I’m breaking out my good ol’ IKEA SY sewing machine to teach myself how to sew.

Last month, I made the simplest DIY envelope pillow case, but for the second installment, I thought I’d start embracing the Valentine’s Day spirit with these adorable (and crazy easy) ruffled crepe paper garlands.nss | ruffled crepe paper garlands

electric love | neon valentine’s day presents

Hooray hooray, it’s almost Valentine’s day! Well, I guess you could call 2.5 weeks almost right? While I can totally admit that Josh and I aren’t 100% on board with obligatory gift giving holidays, I do love the spirit of Valentine’s day. It’s the chance to show appreciation and share some love with everyone! (You can go ahead and call me a hippie now.)

To kick off the countdown, I’m bringing some electric brightness into your day with some Neon Valentine’s Day Present inspiration!electric love | neon valentine's day presents

last-minute yarn wrapped gifts

Well, hello Two Days Before Christmas! How’d you get here so friggin’ fast? Josh and I are actually hanging out with our families in our home town this week, but I just had to squeeze in one more quick post for any last-minute holiday stragglers out there!

If you’ve still got gift wrapping on the to-do list, then I’ve got one more super-quick and cute way to wrap ’em up! Yarn!last-minute yarn wrapped gifts

This is the method we used to wrap all of our gifts this year and I just love the way the yarn looks paired with the kraft paper! Plus, it ties in quite nicely with our “crafty Christmas” theme.last-minute yarn wrapped giftsLiterally, all you need is yarn! last-minute yarn wrapped giftsThe three main ‘designs’ I did were tassels, poms, and just plain wrapped.

  • Tassels: You can use our own Yarn Tassel Ornament tutorial! Just skip the ornament part and attach it to your present.
  • Poms: I like this pom-pom tutorial from A Beautiful Mess. These take a little longer to make, but the result is like a huge dollop of cuteness right on top of your box.
  • Plain wrapped: No tutorial here. Just start at one end and wrap and wrap and wrap criss-crossing directions as you go. This works especially great for small boxes and “manly” gifts.

last-minute yarn wrapped giftsTo finish them off, I used a gold sharpie and small white note cards to make gift tags. I just slid them right under the yarn. Easy-peasy!

So, be honest! What’s still on your to-do list??

color pops | merry metallics

Who loves shiny things? Oh man, I do. Around the holidays, I go really crazy for the sparkle and glitter. This year I wanted to transition from Fall to Christmas with the same color scheme. (You know… the one I was obsessing over last month?) Well, all I had to do to up the festive-ness was add some merry metallics!

Here are some shimmery items to add to your holiday decor!color-pops-merry-metallics

1. Under the Mistletoe pillow cover | Michelle Dwight on Etsy 2. sphere hanging mobile | cb2 3. Petal Pusher wall paper | Oh Joy! for Hygge & West 4. Large Gold Leaf Pear Lamp | Lamps Plus 5. Gold Napkin Ring Set | West Elm 6. Rose Gold Salad Set | West Elm 7. Copper Salt and Pepper Mills | Crate & Barrel

You’ve probably seen that awesome wallpaper by Oh Joy! all around the internet by now and I love it! It’s perfect for an accent wall in a girly space. And of course, I’m bringing back the geometric trend with those fun napkin rings from West Elm and the sphere mobile from CB2.
